Hoffman begins work on $14.98 Million referendum project.

(Appleton, Wis) – Community members, school district representatives, and students attended a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, August 21, 2025, for the Marion School District to mark the start of improvements to Marion Elementary School and Marion High School.

The ceremony, emceed by District Administrator and 7-12 Principal Troy Edwards, featured remarks from School Board President John Schwartz, Mayor Goke, and Hoffman’s Director of Project Management Matt McGregor. The groundbreaking was followed by the District’s annual Back-to-School Open House and Tailgate Celebration.

The Marion School District Referendum and its projects represent a notable milestone for the District and its surrounding communities. The majority of the project’s $14.98 million budget is dedicated for work at Marion Elementary School to accommodate the move of the Middle School from the High School building, as well as infrastructure upgrades at the Elementary School and a new secure entry at Marion High School. Construction is set to begin in September, starting with a new Commons and Kitchen addition at the Elementary School, and continue throughout the school year. All construction projects are scheduled to be completed by the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

The District is partnering with Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. on all phases of the referendum projects, including planning, design, and construction management.
