Hoffman Earns BUILD Wisconsin Award for School Renovation Project

(Appleton, Wis) – Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc.is pleased to share that the renovation of Chilton Elementary School this past summer has earned an Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Wisconsin 2024 BUILD Wisconsin Award in the Commercial – Renovation category. Led by Hoffman’s Director of Project Management Matt McGregor and Chilton Public Schools Superintendent Susan Kaphingst, representatives of the Chilton project team accepted the award on Thursday, January 16 at Monona Terrace in Madison.

The renovation project was part of the Chilton Public School’s $19.3 million referendum passed in April 2022. Remodel of the 36,000-square-foot elementary school began in May 2024 with the conclusion of the school year and was completed in just 83 days, prior to the start of the 2024-2025 academic year. Collaborating with the District, Hoffman transformed a school originally built in the 1970s into a warm, welcoming, healthy, modern, and safe learning environment. The renovation included efforts such as refreshing the school’s primary entrance, remodeling an entire wing from the existing cafeteria to the new addition into new classrooms and learning spaces, and incorporating a large central skylight that brings natural daylight to interior spaces.
