Referendum Team Includes Mondovi Grads
Hoffman project manager is 1984 graduate
(Appleton, Wis.) – When Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction was selected by the School District of Mondovi to review its building needs and plan upgrades, Sean Duncanson was particularly interested in being part of the project. As the district prepares to take an $18 million referendum plan to voters on Nov. 6, the 1984 Mondovi grad, and Hoffman project manager, is hopeful that the project wins approval.
“There’s a real sense of pride and gratitude to be able to work on a project for the School District of Mondovi. I’m proud of my hometown and my school. It feels good to be able to give back and make things better for future generations."

“There’s a real sense of pride and gratitude to be able to work on a project for the School District of Mondovi,” Duncanson says. “I’m proud of my hometown and my school. It feels good to be able to give back and make things better for future generations. I certainly hope that my experience with design and construction will help guide the project along to be successful.”
Duncanson is primarily responsible for selection of contractors for the project, working with the site manager on the project timeline and coordinating meetings with the school and contractors.
Duncanson is not the only Mondovi alum working on the project. Brad Konkel, a 2003 grad, is serving as the CESA 10 project manager/owner’s representative.
“This is a great opportunity for me to serve my hometown,” Konkel says. “I take great pride in being able to help ensure that the Mondovi community receives the best completed project possible.”
Konkel’s work on the project has included conducting a facility assessment, assisting with development of the project scope. As the owner’s representative, he will oversee the design and construction throughout the project.
Mondovi’s main educational facility was built in 1937, with major additions in 1962 1973 and 2000. The referendum plan includes upgrades to the HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as safety and security improvements. The plan also calls for conversion of existing classrooms into 21st-century learning spaces and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) rooms.
