Hoffman Vice President of Architecture Named Chief Operating Officer

(Appleton, Wis) – In a strategic move to support continued growth and operational excellence,
Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. has named vice president of architecture, Chad
Ulman, as chief operating officer. Ulman’s duties as chief operating officer began on May 1.

As chief operating officer, Ulman will lead the execution of the firm’s strategic vision by overseeing daily operations and ensuring all teams are aligned with leadership directives. He will drive optimization of company processes, foster further cross-departmental collaboration, and champion additional innovation through new technologies—all to support the exceptional client service and company culture Hoffman has built over the past 133 years. A key focus for Ulman will be developing future leaders to ensure the firm’s and its clients’ continued long-term success.

Throughout his career, Ulman has designed projects that are economically and ecologically responsible. He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accredited Professional, and a graduate of the University of Minnesota with both a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts in Architecture.

Ulman is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). He has served as an officer at all levels of the Northeast Wisconsin Section of AIA as well as being elected by his peers to be an at-large director for two consecutive terms on the AIA Wisconsin State Board of Directors.

This year marks Ulman’s 25th anniversary of total years of service with the firm after joining Hoffman in 1999 and returning after time away from the firm between 2004 and 2005. Ulman will continue to serve as vice president of architecture in addition to chief operating officer.
