Hoffman Captures AGC BUILD Wisconsin Award
Magnolia Gardens honored in Renovation category

(Appleton, Wis.) – Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction of Appleton has been named a 2018 BUILD Wisconsin Award winner by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Wisconsin. Hoffman was recognized for its renovation of Magnolia Gardens on the Skaalen Retirement Services campus in Stoughton, Wis.

“We are honored to be recognized for our work with Skaalen on the renovation of Magnolia Gardens,” said Terry Ellenbecker, Hoffman vice president of field operations. “Their goal was to refresh a tired and aging facility saddled with an institution look, and turn it into a welcoming, homelike environment for their residents and staff. We’re extremely proud of how the facility was transformed.”

The renovation, which converted an existing skilled nursing memory care facility into a 16-unit Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF), was part of a larger campus-wide effort to reposition the Skaalen campus for the future.

“The renovation of Magnolia Gardens will have a significant impact as we continue to position ourselves as a premier senior care provider in Southern Wisconsin,” said Kris Krentz, Skaalen president/CEO. “You cannot help but feel energized when you walk into the renovated building. Magnolia Gardens was completed beyond my expectations.”

Previous Hoffman projects recognized by the AGC of Wisconsin include The Renaissance Center (Oshkosh), River Crest Elementary School (Hudson), Holy Wisdom Monastery (Madison), Eden Meadows (Oshkosh) and The Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel (Oshkosh).

The AGC of Wisconsin BUILD Wisconsin Awards are designed to celebrate the construction industry’s accomplishments of the year. The awards provide an opportunity for contractors to showcase their skill, integrity, hard work, ingenuity and commitment that goes into each project. The BUILD Wisconsin Awards program is set for Oct. 18 at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton.
