Clintonville Public School District Unveils New Elementary School

(Clintonville, Wis.) – The Clintonville Public School District officially cut the ribbon on its newly renovated elementary school yesterday, which was formerly the District’s middle school. Approved by voters in the November 2020 referendum, the unveiling of the 125,900 sq. ft. elementary school marks the end of the referendum projects. The elementary school is already in use by 570 4K-5 students and 80 staff members.

“It is very exciting to see how a building that was used for so many years by a specific segment of students can be completely adapted to meet the needs of a new segment of students and staff,” said Troy Kuhn, Clintonville superintendent. “We are extremely proud of the work that was done and know this new elementary school will provide all of the necessary spaces and amenities for early learners to thrive for years to come.”

“Our District appreciates Hoffman for their educational expertise, design guidance, construction management, and partnership on this project. This entire process was a success and will benefit our District and community for generations.”

Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. provided planning and design services to the school district and served as the construction manager for the referendum projects. Some of the spaces in the school were renovated while brand-new spaces were added, including new classrooms and skylights in interior classrooms, multipurpose “flex” spaces, a STEAM lab, a Library and Media Center, music and special education classrooms, a fitness center, and two new playgrounds. Additionally, all building entrances have enhanced security as well as a new entrance on the north side, a remodeled district office, and a refinished gymnasium floor and updated air conditioning system.

“Our District appreciates Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction for their educational expertise, design guidance, construction management, and partnership on this project,” added Kuhn. “This entire process was a success and will benefit our District and community for generations.”

Prior to the renovation of the middle school into the elementary school, the District completed the first phase of its referendum projects in the summer of 2022. Phase one included the addition of a new middle school and agricultural-science building to the high school, remodeling existing tech ed and welding spaces, a new independent living classroom expansion, and the addition of a fitness and weight room to the existing Rec Center.

“This renovation was vitally important for Clintonville schools and the community,” said Matt McGregor, Hoffman’s director of project management. “The growth and development of students starts at a young age and providing the space, tools, and technology to excel in their education from the beginning is a great path to success.”
