Chilton Public Schools Complete Referendum Projects with Dedication of Renovated Elementary School

(Appleton, Wis) – When Chilton Elementary School students start their school year on Wednesday, September 11, they’ll be greeted by a newly expanded and remodeled building. On Monday, representatives from Chilton Public Schools and Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. and District teachers, staff, students, parents, and residents dedicated the completely renovated elementary school; the final project of the District’s $19.3 million referendum passed in April 2022.

Work on the elementary school began in May at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Officially kicked off with a “Demo Day” event that gave teachers and staff the opportunity to swing sledgehammers and start the renovation, construction crews remodeled 36,000 square feet in just 83 days!. Over the summer, crews remodeled an existing cafeteria into a new wing of classrooms for 1^st through 4^th grades, a special education area, and art and music spaces. They also installed a large central skylight to bring daylight into the interior rooms.

We can’t thank them enough.”

Chilton Public Schools started working with Hoffman prior to the referendum to perform a facility study and provide pre-referendum services. Following the successful referendum, Hoffman was selected to provide design and construction management services. District-wide projects began in 2023. The Elementary School dedication marks the completion of all the referendum projects, including the new athletic complex, building enhancements, and traffic flow improvements.
