(Appleton, Wis) – If you’ve ever watched a home renovation show on TV, you’re probably aware of how much fun designers and crews have on “demo day.” Well, teachers and administrators at Chilton Public Schools marked the end of the 2023-2024 school year and the start of the renovation and expansion of Chilton Elementary School with a “demolition ceremony” on Friday, May 17. The elementary school projects taking place this summer will be the final piece of the District’s $19.3 million referendum passed in April 2022.
“Since we already held a groundbreaking ceremony for our referendum projects in 2023, we thought we would put a new twist on celebrating the end of the school year and the start of the renovations and expansion happening this summer,” explained Susan Kaphingst, Chilton Public Schools superintendent. “Everyone in the District is excited to see the changes coming to the elementary school as the other referendum projects have already made a positive impact on staff and students.”
