Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin
Scope: New Construction & Expansion | Area: 44,050 sq ft | Completion Date: August 2001 & July 2005
Drawn to their innovative Total Project Management process, the Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin partnered with Hoffman on the design and construction of their 44,050 square foot ambulatory surgery center and medical office building.
The ambulatory surgery center features four operating rooms, three pre-ops, seven recovery rooms, and two isolation rooms. The medical office portion of the building includes ten exam rooms, two procedure/cast rooms, three modality rooms, an x-ray suite, whirlpool room, Baltimore Therapeutic Equipment (BTE)/work simulator, and therapy room.
Design concepts were driven by the owner’s ultimate goal to create a healing environment, as well as a preferred place of employment, that incorporates nature and environmentally friendly features. Sustainable elements of the project include the use of natural landscape vegetation, clerestory windows that maximize natural light, and permanent controls monitoring.
