- Education

PROFILE: Kimberly High School is situated on a 60-acre plot, with twenty acres comprised of a wooded ravine. The school design takes advantage of this location by featuring an indoor-outdoor commons area. Additional features include a 742-seat auditorium with professional acoustics, a four-station gymnasium, and a two-story weight room and fitness area for school and community use.

TPM: Hoffman was initially hired by the district to conduct pre-referendum and planning services for a new high school and remodeling of the existing middle school. A year later, design for the new 1,100-student high school began, and construction was completed two years later, in August 2001. The district is able to achieve significant energy savings through sustainable features such as window glazings that meet the specifications for cool daylighting, improved mechanical systems and high efficiency light fixtures.
