TPM:
Hoffman assisted with referendum promotion, planning, design, and construction
of the new school, which features many sustainable building solutions,
without increased cost. To maximize daylighting, high performance glass
was strategically placed throughout the facility. High efficiency lighting,
with daylighting sensors, provides diminished artificial light when adequate
daylight is present. Waterless urinals and low flow plumbing fixtures
reduce water consumption. To minimize the impact on the environment and
increase indoor air quality, low-emitting materials were used. Additional
sustainable features include extensive use of recycled building materials,
improved insulation, glass and other environmentally responsible materials,
and a mechanical system that features high efficiency boilers and motors.
The district can expect reduced operational costs and
a healthier building for their faculty and students.
