Converting Physical Assets from Burden to Benefit

Hoffman brings insight to the RCRI National Conference

(Appleton, Wis.) – Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction will again bring its expertise to the Resource Center for Religious Institutes (RCRI) National Conference set for October 30 – November 2 in Orlando, Fla.

Mark Boehlke, Hoffman’s Senior Project Manager/Senior Land Planner, will be joined by Sr. Mary Carolyn McQuaid, RGS, of Sisters of the Good Shepherd (St. Louis, Missouri) and Todd Platt of Platt Development Corp. to discuss: “Our Land & Buildings…Moving from Burden to Benefit.”

“With many religious communities reaching critical points and facing questions and concerns about their excess land and facilities, there are options for them to consider,” Boehlke said. “It’s crucial to look at and discuss how congregations can transform excess land and buildings from an operations and financial burden into a benefit.”

Hoffman has a rich history of partnering with women religious organizations, having served more than 50 congregations throughout the United States. Hoffman’s expertise in sustainable planning, design, construction and renewable energy has helped congregations perpetuate their missions while having a positive impact on the environment.

Hoffman has collaborated with 14 Wisconsin congregations, including the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross (Green Bay), Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother (Oshkosh), the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes (Fond du Lac) and the Benedictine Women of Madison (Madison).

This is the eighth time in the past 10 years that Hoffman has been invited to speak at the RCRI National Conference.

The Resource Center for Religious Institutes is an organization created to serve the needs of Catholic communities of religious women and men. Serving as a partner, they help navigate the many complexities related to taxes and tax-exemption, corporate structure, internal organizational setup, finance, administration and canon law. They work with hundreds of religious institutes and societies of apostolic life from all over the United States and from several foreign countries.
